World Day Bee: do you Know how important it is for the ecosystem?

APIVITA celebrates this year the World Day of the Bee on May 20, which was adopted by the UN, aims to highlight the importance of bees for the ecosystem and sounded the alarm about the declining population in the world.

According to the european red list, 9% of all species of bee in Europe is threatened with extinction. 1/3 of the food produced in the world today are associated with pollination by bees, if the bees become extinct, the 71 of the 100 most important vegetable crops in the world, will start to disappear and these. In particular, fruits such as apples, pears, oranges, melons and strawberries, almonds, broccoli, asparagus, will experience a sharp decline!

The admirable society of the bee is a basic source of inspiration of APIVITA and is even in its name, which comes from the Latin words APIS (Bee) and VITA (Life) and means “Life of the Bee”, and the logo, which is inspired by the “Bees of Malia”, a unique minoan jewel of the Middle Bronze Age, which reflects the fertility and harmony.

H APIVITA, in collaboration with the “The Bee Camp”, they have created over 5000 sachets with seeds of bee plants with the aim of informing and raising the awareness of society about the importance of the bee for the ecosystem. The sachets were distributed to collaborators in Greece and abroad, to journalists and Bloggers, and employees of the company.
On the occasion of the international Day of the Bee, the Brand Ambassador and top Greek tennis player (number 20 in the world ranking) Maria Σάκκαρη, had the opportunity to visit the premises of the APIVITA and to know the wondrous world of the bee who impressed as it seemed in the video uploaded to her personal account in Instagram.
